Our Mission

Anyone who has experienced the empty feeling—the despair, loss, and loneliness—of having a dog or cat run away or go missing has likely wondered what could be done to make sure that never happens again to their fur baby.

That’s exactly how the idea for Furtrieve began. Furtrieve was founded by Jordan H after one of his pups slipped through his invisible fence and took off. Jordan was fortunate enough to recover his dog, but millions of other pet owners across the country have not had the same outcome. That experience led Jordan to set out to create something new—something that could truly solve the problem of pets being lost or even taken. After researching the options already on the market and discovering that microchips only provide passive identification (meaning they do not actually track your pet), the blueprint for a more dynamic and revolutionary tracking solution began to take shape.

Furtrieve was designed first and foremost to solve the problem that started it all—helping pet owners quickly find and recover a lost pet. Our GPS technology gives owners real-time visibility into their pet’s location, along with multiple ways to get help if a pet goes missing (including talking to your pet or whomever finds them). This includes instant location tracking, alerts to nearby pet owners, and tools that mobilize a local network to help locate and safely return a pet home. But as the platform developed, it became clear that the same network built to recover lost pets could also solve many other challenges pet owners face. The ability to connect pet owners locally naturally
expanded into helping people find trusted resources and services, share information, and even help pets make new friends. That evolution ultimately led to the creation of Furtrieve Community—bringing pet owners together not only when something goes wrong, but to support each other and improve the lives of their pets every day.

Jordan’s vision for the company didn’t stop there though, he envisioned an entire pet tech eco-system that enabled pet people to connect with other pet owners socially so he created Furtrieve Community which launches in Spring of 2026. Jordan spent years working to understand the pet health industry and realized there are some gaps that he believes can be addressed with technology. Adding veterinarians to team helped realize this vision and Dr. Heidi Ball joined in 2023 to help build that vision. In 2024, another veterinarian, Dr. Kimberly Simmons joined as an advisor as well. Together, with the Furtrieve marketing and tech team we’ve been building a soon to be launched dog health app called Furtrieve Health. Furtrieve Health provides a comprehensive view of all a dog’s life and health

This includes a view and actionable information of their diet (and issues that come from pet food), drugs, activity, vaccines, and an overall long term view of everything about your pet’s health to make better more informed decisions. This new technology also ingests video pet behavior and correlates it to all the other data available to help you better the life of your pet. Lastly, Health will provide a pet cost calculator for owners to understand their pet costs and to find cost effective pet services.
